Često se može čuti u razgovoru s istaknutim umjetnicima i općenito s ljudima koji su postigli vrhunske rezultate na području svoga zanimanja kako se nisu namjeravali baviti onim čime su se kasnije cijeloga života uspješno bavili. Životno zanimanje je nerijetko rezultat spleta okolnosti. Nešto slično bi se moglo kazati i za sudionike jubilarnog koncerta u crkvi sv. Ivana Krstitelja u kraljevoj Sutjesci 22. lipnja 2014. s početkom u 19,00. Naime, pri Franjevačkom samostanu u Kraljevoj Sutjesci je 1994. neplanirano započela Niža glazbena škola kao ekspozitura Glazbene škole u Zenici. Ove godine se obilježava 20.-ta obljetnica njezina početka. Međutim, neformalno je ta glazbena škola započela 1989. Tako smijemo reći da slavimo njezin 25.-ti jubilej.
U temeljima glazbene škole pri Samostanu u Kraljevoj Sutjesci stoji entuzijazam i samozatajni rad sestre Marije Mlakić. Ona je kao katehistica (vjeroučiteljica) u župi sv. Ivana Krstitelja počela 1989. djeci pružati ne samo pouke iz katekizma već im je prenosila i svoje glazbeno znanje koliko ga je stekla kroz katehetsko školovanje. U dnevnom boravku sestarske kuće svakodnevno su se mogle slušati vježbe iz glazbenog priručnika Ferdinanda Bayerna i to ne na klaviru već na sintesajzeru. Klavir je nabavljen tek 1992. zaslugom pokojnog fra Luke Borovičkića. Prve glazbene rezultate Marijini su učenici pokazali već 1991. kad su počeli svirati u crkvi pod đačkom sv. misom. Led je probila Nikolina Pavlović i Romana Jurjević, a onda su slijedi ostali. Krajem 1993. održali su dva koncerta pred osobljem samostana i svojim roditeljima. Lako je shvatiti emocije koje su kod slušatelja izmamili mali glazbenici, osobito zato što se sve zbivalo u jeku rata i živih ratnih rana.
Kad je sestra Marija u skladu s uobičajenom praksom njezine redovničke zajednice bila premještena iz Sutjeske, nije htjela da njezini đaci ostanu ondje gdje su s njom stigli. Samoinicijativno je stupila u kontakt s direktorom Glazbene škole u Zenici gospodinom Ahmom Muharemovićem i zamolila ga da se pri Franjevačkom samostanu u Kraljevoj Sutjesci formira niža glazbena škola kao podružnica Zeničke škole kako bi djeca mogla dobiti i certifikat o završnom ispitu. Gospodin Muharemović je rado prihvatio prijedlog i tako je počelo ono čemu slavimo 20.-ti ili 25.-ti jubilej. U ime Zeničke glazbene škole samostanskom školom je ravnala i djecu poučavala gospođa Sonja Pušić. Sestru Mariju je zamijenila sestra Filipa Mlakić koja je diplomirala glazbu na Katoličkom glazbenom institutu pri Bogoslovnom fakultetu u Zagrebu. Sestra Filipa je, kao i sestra Marija prije nje, s velikim entuzijazmom i ljubavlju pratila male glazbenike. Satima je sjedila uz njih, slušala njihove vježbe, poticala ih i ukazivala na greške. Svoje uspjehe i napredak djeca su pokazivala na koncertima koji su se na završetku školske godine održavali u našoj župnoj crkvi. Neki đaci ove glazbene škole su izabrali glazbu kao svoje životno zanimanje. To su Nikolina Pavlović, Marina Kovač i Ljubica Vuletić. One su završile studij na Glazbenoj akademiji u Sarajevu i profesionalno ušle u svijet glazbe. Na prvom koncertu samostanske glazbene škole 1995. za glazbu se oduševio i danas vrhunski pijanist Bartolomej Stanković iz Zimče (Visoko) koji je završio klavir na Glazbenoj akademiji u Zagrebu u klasi gospođe Pavice Gvozdić. Svi će se oni predstaviti i svojim nastupom proslaviti jubilej vlastitog glazbenog početka.
Rad Glazbene škole pri Samostanu prekinut je 2000. Na sreću sestra Marija je po drugi put došla u Sutjesku 2007. i opet je započela okupljati i sama poučavati djecu u sviranju na klaviru. Neumorna i nepopustljiva u želji da djeca što više nauče stupila je kontakt s direktorom Niže glazbene škole „Katarina Kosača“ iz Žepča gospodinom Mirkom Matijevićem i zamolila ga da osnuju svoju podružnicu u Kraljevoj Sutjesci. Direktor je rado prihvatio prijedlog tako da je njihova podružnica u Kraljevoj Sutjesci započela s radom 2010. u prostorijama OŠ Kraljeva Sutjeska, a zatim je iz određenih praktičnih razloga premještena u OŠ Čatiće. Tu školu uspješno vodi Marina Kovač. Tako će naš jubilej združiti svršene glazbenike i glazbene početnike. Njima će se pridružiti i svojim nastupom obogatiti glazbenu priredbu i bas svjetskoga glasa Ivica Šarić iz Sutjeske i njegov sin Ivan. Nadamo se da će naš jubilej privući pozornost brojnih posjetitelja.
