U nedjelju 02.ožujka u slovenskome gradu Velenje održan je susret za sve naše iseljene župljane koji žive i rade u ovome gradu. Susret je započeo misnim slavljem u crkvi Gospe Karmelske na kojem je nazočilo oko 80 vjernika s područja cijele kakanjske općine, kao i iz drugih krajeva Bosne. Sve nazočne na početku misnog slavlja pozdravio je vlč. Marko Zadravec iz Varaždinske biskupije koji inače vodi pastoralni brigu i skrb za Hrvate koji žive na području Maribora i Velenja.
Misno slavlje je predvodio i pod njim propovijedao vikar sutješkoga samostana fra Željko Brkić. Osvrnuvši se u svojoj propovijedi najprije na misna čitanja, fra Željko je govorio i o smislu i vrijednosti zavičaja, pozvavši sve nazočne da unatoč tome što žive daleko od svoga zavičaja ne zaborave svoje korijene. Nakon misnog slavlja u Pastoralnome centru upriličeno je druženje za sve one koji su nazočili misnome slavlju.
Vrijedne domaćice pripravile su bogatu i obilnu trpezu. Pjesma i razgovor doprinijeli su da druženje prođe u veselom i opuštenom ambijentu. Napominjemo da je ovo bio prvi susret i posjet nekoga od fratara našim iseljenim župljanima koji žive i rade u Sloveniji. Svi nazočni su izrazili želju da se ovakvi susreti nastave i ubuduće i da postanu tradicija. Ovim putem zahvaljujemo gospodinu Šimi Lukiću s Klanca koji je bio glavni inicijator i organizator, kao i svima onima koji su dali bilo kakav doprinos u organizaciji ovog susreta posebno na iskazanoj dobrodošlici i srdačnom gostoprimstvu.
